Exclusive – Redknapp: QPR couldn’t get near Liverpool star’s huge wage demands

Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT Fabio Borini’s move from Liverpool fell through due to his huge wage demands.
The Super Hoops had been searching for a new striker following the sale of Loic Remy and it had looked like the Italy international would join QPR after they and the Reds agreed a fee for his transfer.
But Redknapp revealed the player’s astronomical salary expectation scuppered the transfer.
He told The Sports Bar: “We tried with Fabio Borini. We agreed a deal with Liverpool and everything was sorted with the club but we just couldn’t agree terms with the boy. We couldn’t get anywhere near [the wages] he was asking for.
“His wages were way, way, way out of reach. Believe me, they were big wages. We just couldn’t get near him.”
