‘It kills me’ – England fans left wondering what might’ve been as Jamal Musiala helps put Scotland in trouble

Jamal Musiala has left England fans wondering what might have been after his stunning first half against Scotland.
The 21-year-old starred for Germany in their Euro 2024 opener and took just 19 minutes to find the back of the net in Munich.
Following some fine work from Kai Havertz, Musiala unleashed a rocket of a right-footed effort into the top corner of the net to make it 2-0 to the host nation, Germany.
Of course Musiala's background is an interesting one, particularly given that he could have been turning out for England at this tournament.
Born in Stuttgart, the forward moved to England at the age of seven and enjoyed a football upbringing with Southampton, Chelsea and England.
Musiala represented the Three Lions all the way to under-21 level before deciding to commit his international future to Germany where he has already won 30 caps at senior level.

Clearly an elite star, England's supporters couldn't help but rue the fact that England missed out on having such a supreme talent in their squad for the competition.
One fan wrote: "How did England conspire to miss out on Jamal Musiala?"
A second said: "Imagine Musiala alongside this young England core. Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo etc. massive failure in being turned down by him in senior selection."
A third supporter said: "Musiala is ridiculous. The fact that if we'd kept him he'd be starting for Chelsea and England kills me."

Meanwhile a fourth fan wrote: "Musiala is a proper baller, only if he picked England to play for, him & Jude would've bossed the midfield."
The hosts are rampant in Munich with Florian Wirtz stroking them ahead after ten minutes before Musiala smashed in the second.
Havertz made it 3-0 just before half time with a calm penalty after Ryan Porteous was penalised, and subsequently sent off, for a high challenge on Ilkay Gundogan.
Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can added two more goals in the second half, with Scotland's only consolation being a Germany own goal thanks to ex-Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as they fell to a 5-1 defeat.
