‘Don’t raise your voice at me’ – Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara clash over Gareth Southgate’s England tactics

Jason Cundy snapped at Jamie O’Hara as they clashed over Gareth Southgate’s tactics in the wake of England’s lifeless 1-1 draw with Denmark.
The Three Lions produced a disappointing display on Thursday evening after Harry Kane had fired England in front after 18 minutes.
Morten Hjulmand equalised for Denmark before the interval, but it could have been even worse for Southgate’s men whose lethargic display almost cost them three points.
England were greeted with boos at the final whistle as the inquest immediately opened into Southgate’s unchanged team selection and formation.
Questions were asked of England’s midfield set-up, Harry Kane’s role and Phil Foden’s effectiveness in the wide-left position.
Doubts were also raised about Southgate’s substitutions which saw Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen and Eberechi Eze introduced in the second half.
Sports Bar hosts Cundy and O’Hara joined in on the debate with the pair unable to hide their frustration towards Southgate, who admitted his side do not have a natural replacement for ousted midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
“It’s just not getting the best out of the players he’s got at his disposal,” O’Hara told talkSPORT. “Two years ago, Kalvin Phillips was there. He was playing well. We played a 4-2-3-1 – it worked.
“But now it’s changed, you’ve got to play a different system.
“Play 4-1-4-1 or 4-3-3. Play Declan Rice sitting on his own, play [Jude] Bellingham and [Phil] Foden higher up the pitch. Put [Anthony] Gordon on the left, [Bukayo] Saka on the right.
“Do something different. You’re leaving anyway Southgate and at the moment we’ve lost hope.”
Cundy replied: “He’s not going to play a 4-1-4-1,” before a frustrated O’Hara raised his voice saying: “But why? Why?”
“Don’t fall out with me, don’t raise your voice at me,” Cundy snapped back.
“It’s ridiculous, he wants Kalvin Phillips back!,” O’Hara responded.
“Right, he’s going to play a 4-2-3-1.” Cundy added. “I would play Bellingham deep alongside Rice, I would put Foden in his natural 10 and I would put Gordon in… Gordon gives you legs.
“I would continue with Saka and I have to say, very disappointed Cole Palmer didn’t make an appearance.
“I think the game was crying out for a little bit of creativity and something fresh. He changed his front three. Whenever a manager does that, you know it’s going badly.”
O’Hara gave his opinion on Southgate’s choice of substitutions and agreed with Cundy on Palmer’s lack of game time.
The ex-Tottenham midfielder stated: "He changed the front three and put on Eze and Bowen.
“We’ve got Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer sat there. They must be scratching their head thinking, ‘Any danger gaffer?'
“Like, 'Am I invisible?' He must think, 'Am I here? Is there any point in me being here?' It's a joke."
