Gary Lineker addressed the Harry Kane row live on the BBC with a little quip to Frank Lampard.

Much has been made of Lineker's rant after England's 1-1 draw against Denmark, where he criticised Kane and even said they were 's***' on his podcast.

The Three Lions captain hit back at Lineker, insisting that he might have been unfair with the words and reminded him that he won nothing with England.

After speaking about Kane's reply on his podcast, Lineker made reference to the ongoing clamour on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the BBC's coverage of France vs Poland in the final Group D match at Euro 2024.

Lineker started the show by introducing himself along with his studio guests Alan Shearer, Micah Richards and Lampard.

He then said: "Frank, we've all had our say on England so it is your turn to upset everyone!"

The studio all chuckled as Lampard replied: "Thanks a lot! I can be the good cop."

It is not the first time that Lineker has tried to stitch Lampard up in the BBC studio, though this was still just light-hearted.

During the Euros, he's already made a joke about his thinning hair.

England have already qualified for the knockout stages despite their draw against Denmark after results went their way elsewhere.

It means the shackles could be loosened ahead of Tuesday night's match against Slovenia, live on talkSPORT, though Gareth Southgate will be desperate to his see his side finish top of their group.

After beating Serbia 1-0 in their match, England have four points from two games while Denmark and Slovenia both have two.

It means that a victory will assure the Three Lions of finishing first in Group C, which could potentially see the third-placed team from Group D, E or F.

However, if they drop into second, England would face hosts Germany, who won Group A after two wins and a draw and look dangerous this year as they look to claim glory on home turf.

Nevertheless, Southgate is expected to make changes to his side from Thursday after naming two identical XIs in England's opening matches.

Conor Gallagher is set to come in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has struggled in a midfield role at Euro 2024 so far.

In both matches, the Liverpool star was hauled off by Southgate, including against Denmark in a 53rd-minute substitute - the earliest the England boss has made such a change in a tournament fixture.
