Exclusive – New Leeds boss must be given more time, claims Bridges

Michael Bridges has described former club Leeds United as a ‘shambles’ and insists the next manager MUST be given time at Elland Road.
Previous boss Dave Hockaday was sacked after just 70 days into the job at the Yorkshire side, with owner Massimo Cellino seen as the focal point of fans’ frustrations.
Former players Jimmy Flloyd Hasselbaink and Dominic Matteo have both told talkSPORT they are interested in the role and ex-striker Bridges believes, whoever gets the job, needs a prolonged period to turn things around.
“It has been shambles at Leeds United since the new owner has come in,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.
“You just don’t know where they are going. They have a got a cracking fanbase and they just need some stability.
“They need someone to say, ‘this is a long-term job, you’ve got three years’.
“Look at what Brendan Rodgers has done during his time at Swansea and Liverpool. He was given an opportunity but also given time. Leeds always seem to be looking for a quick fix.”
