Man City vs Manchester United predicted line-ups: Kalvin Phillips to make rare start in Community Shield as Red Devils face defensive crisis

Manchester City take on rivals Manchester United in Saturday's Community Shield at Wembley.
The inner-city rivals are set to meet in a repeat of the FA Cup final at 3pm.
On that occasion, the Red Devils beat the Citizens 2-1 to seal a second piece of silverware for Erik ten Hag and grab their place in the Community Shield.
Meanwhile, after winning a fourth straight Premier League title, the Citizens are back at Wembley.
But as we approach the season opener at Wembley, United have plenty of issues.
Ahead of the game, live on talkSPORT, marvelbet369.com had a look at the team news and potential starting XIs.
There has been quite a bit of speculation this summer about Ederson, and he's unlikely to start here.
However, that isn't due to transfer speculation, it's because Stefan Ortega is City's designated cup goalkeeper.
Kyle Walker is one of many Citizens players who have missed all of pre-season after being given extra time off after Euro 2024.
Rico Lewis has played at right-back for the majority of pre-season and could keep that spot.
Kalvin Phillips has been playing at centre-back alongside Josko Gvardiol, with Josh Wilson-Esbrand at left-back.
However, with Ruben Dias, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake back, we could see that defence shuffled.
Guardiola said: "He [Phillips] is a central midfielder but I said many times Kalvin likes to see all the game in front of him.
"When he is in the middle surrounded by players he struggles a little bit, but he helped us a lot in the last two games on tour. I should have realised before [he can] play in that position. I think his confidence is back."
In midfield, Mateo Kovacic will take one of the two deeper spots.
Rodri might be on the bench, but he's unlikely to start, so Phillips might get a rare chance to shine.
Erling Haaland didn't have an international tournament to compete in, so he's been playing in all of City's pre-season games.
The Norwegian scored a hat-trick last time out against Chelsea and looks sharp heading into the new campaign.
Behind him, there is likely to be a proper scrap for places.
Jeremy Doku, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva are all likely to be back in contention.
New signing Savinho will also make his domestic debut for his new club after joining from Girona.
However, given the extra match sharpness, Jack Grealish and Oscar Bobb will probably start on either wing.
James McAtee is then the favourite to take up the number ten position, with De Bruyne and Foden expected to be introduced from off the bench.
For the Red Devils, Andre Onana will be in goal but in defence, they face a true selection headache.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was withdrawn during the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool with an unspecified injury, meaning Diogo Dalot could be forced to play.
Leny Yoro is out for three months with a foot injury, while Harry Maguire is still recovering from the issue that ruled him out of Euro 2024.
Jonny Evans came off against the Reds due to illness, though he should be fine, while Victor Lindelof was also taken off.
This leaves United with just one fit centre-back in Lisandro Martinez.
At left-back, Tyrell Malacia is still injured, while Luke Shaw has started just one game since mid-January for club or country, meaning Harry Amass will probably start.
Kobbie Mainoo has been given extra time off after Euro 2024, so he'll probably be on the bench.
Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen are likely to fight it out for one of the midfield spots alongside Casemiro.
Amad Diallo has impressed on the right during pre-season, so he could get a chance.
Jadon Sancho is back in the fold after clear-the-air talks with Ten Hag, so he should be on the left or even up front.
The Man United boss said: "Jadon can play across the whole frontline, he's an option for more than one position and it depends how you set up the team.
"You can look at your own tactics, opponents that fit the best and Jadon has some abilities you can use in a game."
Bruno Fernandes has yet to play any part in pre-season, so Mason Mount should play in that number ten role behind Marcus Rashford.
Rashford could also lead the line for United after Anthony Martial was let go.
Rasmus Hojlund picked up a hamstring injury in a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal and is out for six weeks.
Meanwhile, new striker Joshua Zirkzee will hope to make his debut after missing out on the US trip because of his Euro 2024 involvement.
So, Ten Hag has problems at both ends of the pitch, and the season hasn't even started yet.
