Cristiano Ronaldo still unbeaten in shirt sales despite mega-money Premier League signings

Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United in 2021 sent shockwaves throughout the footballing world.
And this was certainly reflected in shirt sales, as fans flocked to buy replicas of his iconic number seven.
So much so in fact, that the Portugal star sold more of his jersey during the 2021/22 campaign than any other Premier League player's best-selling season over the past five years, according to .
The global digital sports platform recently revealed the top-selling Premier League player shirts during this period.
Ronaldo topped the list ahead of some of the big money arrivals to English football in recent years, including Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who came close behind in second place.
The Norwegian goal-machine saw the biggest sales of his number nine shirt in his debut season in England, after joining the Citizens for a fee of £51.2million in June 2023.
Haaland's City teammate Jack Grealish rounds off the top three, selling the third-most replica kits in the 2021/22 season following his £100m move from Aston Villa.
The pair are joined by teammate Phil Foden in ninth place, with fans most eager to bear his name on their backs in 2021/22, when he scooped the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah recorded his highest shirt sales in the same the season, ranking fourth on the list in an impressive year which saw him win the domestic cup double, and finish joint top of the league's scoring charts
Meanwhile Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho enjoyed his best season yet in 2023/24, scoring 10 goals in all competitions, and this was reflected in how easily his shirt left the shelves.
The 19-year-old came fifth in this category, just a place ahead of United teammate and fan favourite Marcus Rashford.
Rashford's number 10 strip was in high demand in 2022/23 as the Englishman recorded his best season in front of goal, hitting 30 goals across all competitions.
Tottenham's Son Heung-Min had the seventh-best selling shirt, with his number seven jersey being most coveted by fans in 2021/22 after winning the Premier League Golden Boot alongside Salah.
The rest of the top 10 is made up of forwards, with £84m Man United signing Antony the eighth-most popular replica shirt, owing to his first season on English soil in 2022/23.
The Brazilian's strike partner Rasmus Hojlund completes the list, off the back of his recently concluded debut campaign at Old Trafford, which saw him net 10 league goals, despite a slow start.
