Danny Murphy on Liverpool slump: ‘Jurgen Klopp is a good manager, but the squad is simply not good enough’

Danny Murphy says we are now seeing the true quality of Liverpool's squad.
Jurgen Klopp's men made a flying start to the season to raise hopes of a Premier League title challenge, but have been in woeful form since the turn of the year.
They have won only one of their last seven league games and sit fifth after Monday night's 3-1 defeat to Leicester, 14 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
According to Murphy, Liverpool overachieved at the beginning of the campaign due to Klopp, with the former Reds star insisting the current squad is simply not good enough to challenge for major honours.
Speaking on talkSPORT'S Kick Off show, the ex-England international said: "You look at the Liverpool bench compared to Chelsea.
"I was at the Chelsea game at the weekend and they had Willian coming on, Matic coming on, John Terry on the bench, and I was thinking Conte can't wait to get in the Champions League so he can start giving them a game.
"Liverpool have got a young kid on the bench and Origi, players not proven. They are playing a centre midfielder at centre-half.
"The squad is not good enough, it's as simple as that.
"Klopp is a good manager. For the start of the season, he got more out of those players than he should have."
