Footage emerges of Man City fans taunting Marc Cucurella as Erling Haaland responds to ‘funny’ opponent’s jibe

Marc Cucurella got an ear full from Manchester City fans as he came off in Chelsea's opening Premier League clash.
The Blues defender went viral after Spain's Euro 2024 final win for singing 'Cucu, Cucurella, he eats paella, Cucu, Cucurella he drinks Estrella, Haaland you’d better tremble as Cucurella is coming'.
He was filmed signing the chant several times amid their wild celebrations after beating England in the final.
Unfortunately for Cucurella and Chelsea, he did not make good on that promise.
Man City saw them off with a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with Haaland and Mateo Kovacic finding the net.
And it was Cucurella that Haaland brushed off as the Norwegian stuck the ball in the back of the net.
Cucurella had gone down towards the end of the game appearing to clutch his hamstring, he even appeared to ask the striker for help.
Cucurella was then soon replaced by Renato Veiga.
The Spaniard then had to make his way past the away - and the Spain full back's chant was clearly still fresh in their minds.
Footage on social media shows Man City fans giving him plenty of stick, with a lot of the words used unable to be typed out into this article.
"He eats paella," was the caption of the video posted on X.
Haaland had clearly taken note of Cucurella's 'tremble' remarks too.
He appeared to ignore Cucurella's request for help when he went down with cramp, walking past him instead.
Speaking after the game, the striker told : “Well, Cucurella is a funny man.
"Last season he asked for my shirt… and this summer he sings a song about me."
Chelsea next face Swedish side Servette in the Europa Conference League play-off on Thursday before facing Wolves on the road in the Premier League next Sunday.
For Man City, it was another strong start to the season as they look to make it five in a row.
It was Haaland's 91st goal for the club since joining two years ago.
"What a privilege and honour to be the manager of this group of players at this club, because after what we achieved," manager Pep Guardiola said.
"The good news is the first three points. The bad news is we have 70 games ahead of us. That's why the best way is to be calm, relaxed, and enjoy the moment of course."
