New Europa League draw explained: Revamped format, teams, pots and how to follow as Manchester United and Tottenham learn fate

The Europa League is going to look very different this season with big changes made to the competition’s format and draw.
Instead of a group stage, UEFA’s second-tier tournament will now have a 36-team league phase with eight fixtures being played by each side.
It represents a huge difference to the usual system and it also means that the typical draw process has been shaken up for this campaign.
And here, marvelbet369.com takes a look at when it will be taking place and how it will work…
The 2024/25 Europa League draw will be held on Friday, August 30.
It will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Proceedings will get started at 12pm UK time.
talkSPORT 2 will have full coverage of the draw.

This year, due to the new league phase, the draw has also changed.
Teams will be seeded in four pots of nine based on their club's European coefficient at the beginning of the season.
Rather than being placed into groups, each team will now be drawn against two opponents from each pot, one of those being played at home and the other away.
Clubs can’t be drawn against others from their own country and can only play two sides from the same country during the league phase.
As well as the format change, there has also been a change to how the teams are drawn.
All 36 teams will be drawn using physical balls, but their opponents will now be decided by automated software.
The software will randomly draw a team’s opponents and whether the games will be at home or away, with the ties revealed on screen during the draw.
The draw will begin in Pot 1, with teams assigned opponents one-by-one and continuing into all other Pots until every team has found out their fate.
Pot 1: Roma, Manchester United, Porto, Ajax, Rangers, Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham, Lazio, Slavia Prague
Pot 2: Real Sociedad, AZ Alkmaar, Braga, Olympiacos, Lyon , PAOK, Fenerbahce, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Ferencvaros
Pot 3: Qarabag, Galatasaray, Viktoria Plzen, Bodo/Glimt, Union Saint-Gilloise, Dynamo Kyiv, Ludogorets Razgrad, Midtjylland, Malmo
Pot 4: Athletic Bilbao, Hoffenheim, Nice, Anderlecht, FC Twente, Besiktas, FCSB, FK RFS, IF Elfsborg
The first games of the Europa League league phase will take place next month between September 25th and September 26th.
Kick-off times will be confirmed closer to the fixture date.
