Eggja was close with his father, Alf-Inge, and he played a key part in Haaland's incredible footballing career so far.

It has created some doubt over whether the striker will be okay to play, with compassionate leave granted, should he wish to take it.

Pep Guardiola has now given an update on the situation and here, marvelbet369.com takes a look at his chances of featuring...

Guardiola has been unable to confirm whether his talisman will be in the right state of mind to play after a tough few days.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the City boss said: "Tough moment for him and his family. Sad news.

“Our thoughts are with him and his family."

He then admitted: "We will see tomorrow if he is able mentally and physically to play."

So, Haaland's chances of featuring will depend on how he is feeling this morning ahead of the game at the Etihad.

And he may still not be fully ready to play following his sad loss.

"Words cannot describe how much you meant to me! Words cannot describe how much you will be missed!

What are Erling Haaland's goals stats as the record-breaking Norwegian smashes it at Manchester City?

"I don't give a s***. I don't give a s***! That's exactly what I'm going to do.

"Thank you for everything, you madman. We will see each other again. Rest in peace, Ivar."

There is no doubt that Haaland will now be dedicating his football to Eggja, aiming to continue his success to make him even prouder.
