Peterborough beat Barnsley 2-1 in League One and manager Darren Ferguson was full of praise for match winner Marcus Maddison.

The midfielder's fantastic free-kick helped Posh to three points and Fergie junior likened it to former Tottenham and current Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

"Marcus' goal was worthy of winning any game at any level of football," Ferguson said.

"It is an incredible ability to hit the ball so well. It is more Bale than Beckham, and it is a joy to watch."
