Fenerbahce eyeing shock swoop for Man United forward

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has emerged as a shock transfer target for Fenerbache, according to reports in Turkey.

The 31-year-old has endured a mixed start to the season under new manager Louis van Gaal, scoring three goals in eight games.

It has led to speculation that Van Persie could be set to leave Old Trafford after two seasons with the Red Devils.

And, according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik, Fenerbache have contacted Van Persie's representatives over a potential move.

The Turkish giants have reportedly been told that a transfer in January is unlikley, but the Netherlands international will consider his future next summer.
