Newcastle win Carabao Cup LIVE REACTION: Magpies finally end 70-year trophy drought as Howe and co. become club legends

Newcastle won their first major domestic trophy in 70 years on Sunday as they beat Liverpool to lift the Carabao Cup.
The Magpies ended their long drought at Wembley thanks to goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak despite a late consolation.
It’s a moment that Eddie Howe will never forget as he and his squad have written their names into the club’s folklore forever.
Arne Slot has missed out on his first piece of silverware as Reds boss, but he will have the Premier League title to aim for now.
You can recap all of the action in our live blog below...
OFFSIDE! Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle
52' NEWCASTLE ARE DENIED A SECOND GOAL!
It comes again from a corner, with Joelinton running to the back post to head back across goal...
His header finds Alexander Isak and he taps home.
VAR takes a look and disallows the goal for Bruno Guimaraes' being in an offside position and disrupting the goalkeeper.
Sam Matterface live on talkSPORT: "I don't think it's because Isak is offside.
"I think it's because Guimaraes is in front of the goalkeeper."
Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle
49' That's already better from Liverpool.
A brilliant sweeping move is started by Virgil van Dijk as he strides out of the defence and sends Diogo Jota through.
Jota cuts on back to Luis Diaz, before Joelinton slides in to intercept and deny the Colombian a shot at goal.
But that is what the Reds lacked in the first half, so Arne Slot will be pleased to have seen that attacking play.
Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle
46' We're back underway in this final.
Liverpool need to massively improve if they want to come back here; they've not threatened at all.
Their elimination from the Champions League in midweek could be carrying into this game.
They played 120 minutes and went through penalties before losing, so it may have taking a toll.
It certainly looks like it so far...
Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle: HALF TIME
It's half time and wow, what a moment that was.
Dan Burn scores his first goal in 54 games to put Newcastle in front against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final.
He is now just the second Toon player to score in a League Cup final after Alan Gowling in 1976 against Manchester City.
It was also the first goal the club have scored at Wembley since Rob Lee netted in April 2000 vs Chelsea.
The Magpies have been superb, dominating this game.
Liverpool's only shot on goal in the first half came with the last touch as Diogo Jota poked well wide.
What will Arne Slot do at the break? His side have been well off their usual standards in this final.
GOAL! Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle: Dan Burn
45' WEMBLEY HAS ERUPTED!
NEWCASTLE LEAD IN THE CARABAO CUP FINAL!
DAN BURN HEADS INTO THE BACK OF THE NET!
On the week he's called up the England squad for the first time ever, he's scored at Wembley.
And the Magpies have totally deserved that!
Lee Clarke live on talkSPORT: "What a story this could be. What a header, absolutely superb.
"It's what Newcastle deserve."
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
43' Should Liverpool have had a penalty?
Kieran Trippier sprints back to compete with Luis Diaz for the ball in the box, before clipping it with his hand.
That touch moves the ball away from Diaz and allows Trippier to win it and clear for Newcastle.
The Colombian appeals for a spot-kick, but nothing is given and VAR have a look before agreeing with the referee.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
40' We've had three injuries in one here...
Joelinton is landed on by Ibrahima Konate before Dominik Szoboszlai and Sandro Tonali clash heads seconds later.
Fortunately, they're all okay to continue.
Kieran Trippier has also been hobbling and he's just had to receive some treatment on the sidelines as well.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
38' Now, that was a tense moment!
A poor header back to Nick Pope looks to be very short for the goalkeeper and Luis Diaz pounces.
Diaz was bearing down on the ball but Pope had charged out and he jumped into the challenge to win it crucially.
Then to get the Magpies fans going, Joelinton wins a huge challenge and roars at his fans, sending them crazy.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
36' Three more shots come in for Newcastle.
Alexander Isak's header at the back post is blocked before Kieran Trippier's strike is too.
From the resulting corner, Dan Burn's header is flicked towards goal by Bruno Guimaraes whose shot is saved.
That makes it nine shots for Newcastle so far.
Liverpool have had none at all.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
34' Luis Diaz is left in a lot of pain...
Diaz jumps for a header and Kieran Trippier nudges him mid-air, sending him flying and crashing into the ground.
The Liverpool winger stays down for a second before venting his frustration at the referee.
Trippier is warned but he avoids a caution for now.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
32' Back at the other end, Newcastle push again.
Sandro Tonali works hard to hassle Ibrahima Konate and win a corner which is then cleared by Liverpool.
Dan Burn then clashes with Caiomhin Kelleher as they compete for a ball, with nothing given and a goal kick awarded.
Darren Bent live on talkSPORT: "That sums up Liverpool in this game, it's sluggish.
"Konate should just clear it and put it out, but he's got caught up in it and conceded a corner."
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
29' Liverpool win their first corner of the game.
Andy Robertson whips in a great cross to the near post before Joelinton rises highest to head away.
The Reds are still yet to have a shot in this final.
They've failed to attempt a shot in the opening 30 minutes of a game for just the second time under Arne Slot.
The other instance was away to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League this month.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
26' Another chance comes for Newcastle.
A corner finds Dan Burn at the back post and the big defender wins his header to find Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes is six yards out with his back to goal, allowing Caoimhin Kelleher to come out and smooth his shot.
Eddie Howe's side continue to probe.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
23' Newcastle fire another shot away!
It's Sandro Tonali this time who receives the ball on the edge of the box and finds some space to shoot...
His effort is powerful but it flies just wide.
The Magpies continue to threaten and they're looking confident, with Liverpool still struggling.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
20' Liverpool haven't been at their best at all.
They still haven't had a shot at goal and they've not really come close to either, struggling to create.
Most of their attacks have been on the break and Newcastle haven't been tested in this final.
Darren Bent live on talkSPORT: "They're lacking a little bit of pop. Certainly in the final third.
"Their touches are a bit off and the passes their trying to play through, they're a bit off it."
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
17' Jarrel Quansah flies into a tackle...
The makeshift right-back has been put under pressure from the off and he's potentially lucky not to pick up a card.
He wins the ball off of Valentino Livramento but looks to slip into the tackle and clatters into the defender with studs up.
However, Quansah gets away with it and is maybe given the benefit of the doubt due to losing his footing.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
14' Mohamed Salah makes his first move forward.
But after cutting inside, he loses the ball for Liverpool.
The Reds aren't into their flow just yet, as it's been Newcastle who have been the more comfortable so far.
Arne Slot will want to see some improvement soon.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
11' Harvey Barnes continues to be a menace.
He's pressing very high on the right when off the ball and he's making plenty of runs when on it.
Newcastle keep sending the ball out there to him and that looks to be a potential gameplan of Eddie Howe's.
Alex Crook live on talkSPORT: "It's pretty clear they're targeting this Liverpool right-hand side with Quansah and Salah maybe not tracking back."
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
8' Liverpool waste a good opportunity.
Alexis Mac Allister whips in a dangerous, curling free-kick but none of his teammates have ran early enough.
No one gets on the end of it, and the ball drops straight to Nick Pope who starts another Newcastle move.
Eddie Howe's side are comfortable early on, but the game is beginning to become stop-start with a few fouls being given.
Their most recent chance was from a corner that was eventually cleared following a Caoimhin Kelleher punch.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
5' The first half-chance comes for Newcastle.
Another ball into the box sees Harvey Barnes slide in to try and finish but he scuffs into the air and wide.
Jarrell Quansah, who is replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, was beaten by Barnes there.
The former Leicester winger may fancy his chances against the defender who is covering in an unnatural position.
The Magpies remain the better team so far.
Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
3' Newcastle make a positive start.
They've seen the most of the ball and are looking very direct early on, hoofing a few balls forward.
Nothing has come of it so far, but Jacob Murphy's cross caused a small worry for the Liverpool defence.
Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have committed early fouls to see the Reds' moves forward break down quickly.
KICK-OFF! Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle
