Liverpool lead chase for £20million England and Man City goalkeeper Joe Hart

Joe Hart is poised to return to the Premier League with Liverpool

Joe Hart is poised to return to the Premier League with Liverpool to bring an end to his exile in Italy.

The England international, who turns 30 today, will cost Jurgen Klopp £20million.

Hart was never part of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola's plans when he arrived last year and has spent the season on loan at Torino.

Guardiola brought in Claudio Bravo to replace Hart, but he has failed to impress enough to make the No 1 spot his own.

Bravo has had to share duties with Willy Caballero this season, but neither is likely to be a long-term solution for Pep.

Klopp is also keen to bring in a new face while Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius remain accident prone.

City bought Hart from Shrewsbury in 2006 and went on to make almost 350 appearances for the club.

He was a central figure in the title wins in 2011-12 and 2013-14 and their 2011 FA Cup triumph.
