Classic! Footballer runs off celebrating ‘goal’ then realises it was saved

Sometimes there can be nothing more embarrassing than celebrating too early. Just ask Bastia star Guillaume Gillet, who wheeled away in delight the moment the ball left his boot, only for Rennes' goalkeeper Benoit Costil to pull off a wonderful save.

The Belgian midfielder's shot looked surely to nestle in the back of the net, only for Costil to tip it onto the bar and then clear the resulting follow-up. That didn't stop Gillet from running off, only to realise his mistake.
