Arsenal transfer report: Gunners target January swoop for Celtic star

Arsenal are determined to secure the services of Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk during the January transfer window.

The Dutchman has been on the Gunners radar since the summer, with Arsene Wenger sending scouts to watch the 23-year-old on several occasions.

And now, according to TMW, Wenger has decided to push ahead with a move for Van Dijk when the transfer window reopens next month.

The centre-back has been a revelation since joining Celtic in 2013 for £2.6m from Dutch club FC Groningen.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has expressed his desire to keep hold of Van Dijk, but it is thought that a bid of £10m could be enough to secure his signature.
