Manchester City defender set for Inter Milan switch?

Inter Milan are set to pip arch rivals AC Milan and win the race to sign Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic, according to reports in Italy.

Former City boss Roberto Mancini, who is now in charge of the Nerazzurri, brought the Serbian international to the Ethiad Stadium in 2012 and is keen to recapture his signature again.

Nastasic, 21, has only featured once this term - he was part of the City side beaten 3-0 against Arsenal in the Community Shield in August - and is reportedly determined to move on in the January transfer window.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter are poised to sign the defender on loan with a view to a permanent switch next summer.

Since joining the Manchester club from Fiorentina, Nastasic has made 51 appearances and was part of the club's title-winning team last season.
