Torres’ future in limbo as AC Milan decide to ditch striker in January

AC Milan are ready to let Fernando Torres leave the club in the January transfer window following a meeting over his future at the weekend.
San Siro CEO Adriano Galliani met with first-team coach Filippo Inzaghi to discuss whether the Spanish forward will remain at the club until his loan deal from Chelsea expires in June 2016, but according to the Corriere della Sera, the pair have decided to offload the 30-year-old.
Torres has scored just once in 10 appearances this term and Milan have been looking into the possibility of cancelling the striker's deal earlier than intended and sending him back to Stamford Bridge.
Milan have also made an approach to Torres' former club, Atletico Madrid, over whether they can arrange a swap loan deal which would see Torres head back to the Spanish capital and misfit Alessio Cerci return to Serie A.
In recent weeks, Torrres has also been linked with a shock return to Liverpool but it has been reported that sources close to the frontman claim he is unlikely to go back to Anfield for a second spell and may choose to stay at Milan if no other club can meet his wage demands.
