Manchester United missed the chance to move ahead of Liverpool for 32 hours at least when they drew 1-1 with Swansea.

The Merseysiders will face Watford on Monday evening and will be boosted by the Red Devils dropping two points at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho's side's unbeaten run continues in the league, stretching back to October, but it was their 14th draw of the season.

United - who lost Luke Shaw to injury early on - were awarded a penalty at the end of the first half, following a poor display, as Marcus Rashford went down easily under pressure from Swansea stopper Lukasz Fabianski. Captain Wayne Rooney coolly converted to net his seventh goal of the campaign.

The Red Devils showed impetus after the break and looked to build on their lead, but they were again hit by injury as Eric Bailly had to be replaced.

Swansea then drew level on 79 minutes as Gylfi Sigurdsson beat David De Gea with a stunning 25-yard free-kick.
