Champions League team news: Predicted Atletico Madrid line-up to face Real Madrid – Jose Gimenez and Juanfran to miss out?

Diego Simeone could have a defensive dilemma ahead of Atletico Madrid’s Champions League showdown with city rivals Real Madrid.

Los Rojiblancos, who won 5-0 at Las Palmas at the weekend, are likely to be without Jose Gimenez and Juanfran for the first-leg semi-final clash at the Bernabeu.

With Sime Vrsaljko already out, centre-half Gimenez was filling in at right-back for Juanfran when he was injured. Without any right-back available, Diego Simeone could bring youngster Lucas Hernandez in at right-back, sticking with his reliable central defensive pairing of Stefan Savic and Diego Godin.

Simeone must also decide who to partner Antoine Griezmann with - with Kevin Gameiro and Fernando Torres vying for a spot. The former netted a double at the weekend while the latter was also on the score sheet.

The Atletico boss told Atletico’s website: "We will put together a team that competes with the heart of any fan of Atletico de Madrid."
