Arsenal transfer ALERT! Espanyol join race for Gunners outcast Lucas Perez

Espanyol are the latest La Liga club to be linked with a move for Arsenal forward Lucas Perez.

The 28-year-old has been only a bit-part player for the Gunners since arriving from Deportivo for £17.1million last summer.

He has started just two Premier League games all season and has struggled to establish himself in Arsene Wenger's squad.

It has been suggested that he could leave when the window opens and, as talkSPORT told you last month, former club Deportivo are interested in resigning him.

And now Spanish newspaper Sport have suggested that Espanyol are also keeping tabs on the situation and could make a move of their own, with a loan even possible.

Perez scored 18 goals in 37 La Liga starts for Deportivo last season and Espanyol believe he could recreate that sort of form back in Spain.
