Colchester allow Thompson to extend his Tranmere loan deal

Colchester have allowed Josh Thompson to extend his loan at Tranmere until January 24.
The 23-year-old centre-back joined Tranmere in October and has made six appearances so far.
And now the Birkenhead side have managed to persuade Colchester to let him stay until the end of this month.
Thompson started his career at Stockport before Celtic paid £250,000 to land him back in 2009.
He has since had spells at Rochdale, Peterborough, Chesterfield and Portsmouth before joining United permanently in November 2012.
