Crystal Palace transfer news: Eagles in £3.5m swoop for Lille full-back

Crystal Palace are in advanced talks with Lille full-back Pape Souare, according to reports in France.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, with Souare seemingly one of his prime targets.

According to L'Equipe, Palace and Lille have agreed a fee of around £3.5m for Souare and personal talks will now take place.

The south London club are ready to offer the 24-year-old a three-and-a-half year deal, while also promising him a pay-rise on his current salary at Lille.

Souare's departure would free up funds for Lille to make a move for Benfica striker Derley, who is high on the Ligue 1 club's list of transfer targets.
