Outgoing Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel would be a great fit for Crystal Palace, Paul Elliot tells talkSPORT

Thomas Tuchel would be a great fit for Crystal Palace, according to former Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa defender Paul Elliot.
The 43-year-old German left his job as head coach of Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, after a relationship breakdown with the club hierarchy, despite winning the DFB Pokal on Saturday - the team’s first trophy in five years.
Tuchel had long been linked with the Arsenal job but, with long-serving boss Arsene Wenger set to stay, Elliot has claimed the vacant position at Palace could be a great opportunity.
The Eagles survived relegation under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce but the Englishman quit the club at the end of the season to head into retirement.
“He’s a very capable and competent coach - definitely got them to the Champions League,” Elliot told talkSPORT.
“I don’t think he will get a top six job here but certainly anywhere from eighth to mid-table.
“I am just thinking on my feet here - Crystal Palace? They are looking for a manager at the moment.
“London is very attractive, an excellent chairman in Steve Parish, so that might be an opportunity.
“But for sure he’s a Premiership manager there’s no doubt about that.”
