Exclusive – David Seaman says Arsene Wenger needs to copy Jose Mourinho to turn Arsenal into title winners

Arsene Wenger needs to copy Jose Mourinho's methods if Arsenal are to win the Premier League again, according to David Seaman.
Mourinho has often faced criticism over his supposed defensive tactics but, in terms of major trophy success, few managers match up to the self-styled Special One.
And, after seeing Wenger extend his reign at Arsenal, Seaman says the Gunners boss should look to his rival for inspiration as he bids to end the club's 13-year title drought.
Arsenal have become renowned for playing attacking, possession-based football under Wenger, but Seaman says it is time they adopt a more defensive style.
The Arsenal legend, who who made 564 appearances for the club and won eight major trophies, told talkSPORT: "They have got to tighten it up at the back. It has been way too long since they won the league.
"Mourinho has gone in to Manchester United and won three trophies last season.
"Ok, they are not playing the best football, but it is not negative football. It is building on a defence and that is what we did at Arsenal for a long time. We need to get back to that.
"When I went to Arsenal, we didn't play the most attractive football but it was effective football and it won trophies.
"It is all about winning trophies, for me."
While Seaman wants a change in approach from Wenger, he is happy that the Frenchman is staying on.
Wenger came in for fierce criticism from pundits, supporters and former players during the second half of last season as Arsenal slipped out of the Premier League top four and were thrashed 10-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
But Seaman said of his new two-year deal: "For me they have made the right move.
"I think it could have been done a little earlier, but I'm happy that he signed."
David Seaman recently launched a new online game called SpottoCash for football fans based on the classic ‘spot-the-ball’ competition.
