West Ham eye Sevilla midfielder as Alex Song alternative

West Ham are targeting a summer move for Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra, according to reports in Spain.

The Hammers endured a frustrating January transfer window, with deadline day moves for Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul both falling through.

As a result the club's board have acted quickly and are now looking for summer reinforcements.

And, according to Sevilla newspaper Estadio Deportivo, Sam Allardyce has identified Iborra as one of his top transfer targets.

The 27-year-old has put in some impressive displays for Sevilla this season, helping the La Liga club climb to fourth in the table.

With loan star Alex Song's Upton Park future remaining uncertain, Allardyce has reportedly earmarked Iborra as the perfect midfielder to fill the void if the Cameroonian does not pen a permanent deal.
