Man United and Tottenham target ‘can be as good as Robben’ – Video

Manchester United and Tottenham target Memphis Depay has the ability to be as good as Arjen Robben, believes Dutch hero Phillip Cocu.

The impish flyer is making a name for himself with PSV Eindhoven having hit 15 goals in the Eredivisie this season, claiming three assists.

And as the Premier League duo keep tabs on the Netherlands international, who impressed with his World Cup cameos, PSV coach Cocu admitted he could become as good as Bayern Munich star Robben, who spent two years with the Dutch club.

“Whether he can be as good as Arjen Robben? I think so," he told Russia's Sport Express.

“They are different players, but they are both fast and have a good shot. And both always have the urge to learn.”

And to give Man United and Spurs a boost, Cocu has admitted it’s likely Depay will leave at the end of the current campaign.

He added: “At some point, it becomes clear that he is ready for the next step. And yes, I think he's going to leave PSV after this season.”
