Jordan Pickford becomes Britain’s most expensive ever goalkeeper: How record-fees have progressed

1989 - Nigel Martyn - Bristol Rovers to Crystal Palace (£1million)

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has completed his big money move to Everton from Sunderland.

Although the 23-year-old is uncapped at senior level, Ronald Koeman's Toffees have had a bid accepted by the Black Cats which could reach £30million with various add-ons.

Pickford is set to take the number one jersey at Goodison Park next season after Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg failed to make the position their own.

Here, talkSPORT looks at the progression of the British record fee for keepers from 1989, when a stopper first commanded a seven-figure sum.
