  • FA Cup updates

While we still wait for a first goal at Goodison, we have a couple of goals in the other games.

At Craven Cottage, it is 1-1.

Rodrigo Muniz has taken his rare start and opened the scoring in west London.

But the Hornets have just equalised through Rocco Vata.

And at Bramall Lane, high-flying Sheffield United are in danger of going out.

They trail 1-0 to Cardiff thanks to a first-half goal from Cian Ashford.

  • Everton 0-0 Peterborough - Chance

Oh, so close to a wonderful goal!

Vitaliy Mykolenko gets down the left and curls a cross into the box.

Peterborough don't deal with it properly, clearing as far as Orel Mangala.

The Belgian watches the ball drop from the sky and hits a sweet volley.

It leaves the goalkeeper stranded and rocks off the top of the bar and away to safety.

  • Everton 0-0 Peterborough

Early stages at Goodison Park, but it's clear that Everton are pressing more aggressively than they would be under Sean Dyche.

Beto has already tested Nicholas Bilokapic with a decent left-footed strike.

Meanwhile, the visitors have actually taken control of more of the ball.

The League One side are known for their pretty play, so this will be a test for the Toffees.

  • Everton vs Peterborough - Kick-off

It's very strange atmosphere at Goodison Park, with everyone in shock that Sean Dyche has been sacked.

But the game is underway, and if the Posh win, they will make this the final FA Cup match at Goodison Park.

Of course, the Toffees will hope not.

They are being led on the sidelines by two legends in Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman.

The match at Craven Cottage between Fulham and Watford is also starting.

  • Dyche's last XI

Everton cult hero Leighton Baines has revealed that the starting XI picked for this evening's game against Peterborough was picked by Sean Dyche.

The Toffees sacked the former Burnley boss after two years earlier today, handing the reins to Baines and his former full-back partner Seamus Coleman.

However, given the short notice, they haven't had time to pick a team, so this is actually Dyche's last XI and not the one he picked on Saturday against Bournemouth.

Speaking ahead of the match, he said: "I found out [about taking over] today, like everyone else. The starting XI I've only found out today, so that was picked beforehand.

"We've made a couple of small adjustments inside of that, based on how we think it'll help. It's different, but it's football. This is our job, the players know how to play football.

"I've been coaching long enough, and the people around me are experienced as well. It's a different type of day, but it's the kind of things we do every day anyway."

  • Fulham vs Watford: Team news

With the congested fixture schedule for pretty much every team, it is no surprise to see so many starting XIs change.

Fulham take on Watford this evening, and they are no exception.

From the 2-2 draw with Ipswich at the weekend, Marco Silva has made seven changes.

Joachim Andersen, Timothy Castagne, Alex Iwobi and Sasa Lukic are the only survivors.

Adama Traore, Emile Smith Rowe and Rodrigo Muniz all get a chance to impress.

Meanwhile, the Hornets are ninth in the Championship, chasing a play-off place.

Tom Cleverely has also made seven alterations.

Tom Ince, Ryan Porteous and Jonathan Bond all come into the side.

Fulham: Benda, Castagne, Andersen, Cuenca, Sessegnon, Lukic, Pereira, Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi, Muniz

Subs: Leno, Bassey, Reed, Jimenez, Wilson, Cairney, King, Diop, Godo

Watford: Bond, Porteous, Andrews, Tikvic, Larouci, Ogbonna, Kayembe, Ince, Dwomoh, Doumbia, Vata

Subs: Sierralta, Chakvetadze, Louza, Sissoko, Bayo, Morris, Baah, Roberts, Nabizada

  • Everton vs Peterborough: Team news

Well, we've been robbed of a potentially brilliant father vs son moment as Everton and Peterborough have left their respective Youngs on the bench.

Ashley isn't included in the Toffees' starting XI and is one of six changes from the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, which proved to be Sean Dyche's final match in charge.

Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman have picked a relatively strong team, though Jordan Pickford, James Tarkowski and Abdoulaye Doucoure aren't starting.

Meanwhile, Peterborough have also made a few changes.

Oscar Wallin and Bradley Ihionvien are among those to be replaced.

Meanwhile, Tyler Young is also a substitute.

Everton: Virginia, Patterson, O'Brien, Branthwaite Keane, Mykolenko, Gueye, Mangala, Armstrong, Ndiaye, Beto

Subs: Begovic, Harrison, Doucoure, Young, Broja, Lindstrom, Leban, Butterfield

Peterborough: Bilokapic, Nevett, Fernandez, Katongo, Dornelly, Hayes, Collins, Kyprianou, Conn-Clarke, Jones, O'Brien-Brady

Subs: Wallin, Mothersille, Havilland, Odoh, Blackmore, Lindgren, Sparkes, Young, Ihionvien

  • Sheffield United vs Cardiff City: Team news

The first match of the FA Cup third round comes from Bramall Lane as Sheffield United take on Cardiff City.

The Blades are flying high in the Championship, while the Welsh giants are struggling badly.

As a result, there are plenty of changes for both sides.

From Sheffield United's 2-1 win over Watford, makes seven changes.

Rhian Brewster, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Adam Davies and Jamal Baptiste are among those to come into the team.

Meanwhile, Harrison Burrows and Alfie Gilchrist are two of the four from Saturday.

For Cardiff, it's also seven changes.

Sheffield United: Davies, Gilchrist, Baptiste, Norrington-Davies, Burrows, Blacker, Brooks, Brewster, Marsh, McCallum, One

Subs: Hamer, O'Hare, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Faxon, Boyes, Hampson, Aston, Colechin

Cardiff: Horvath, Kpalkio, Fish, Daland, Bagan, Ng, Ralls, Colwill, Tanner, Ashford, Etete

Subs: Siopis, Willock, Robertson, Rinomhota, Davies, Turner, Giles, Jefferies, Pearce

  • Another normal day at Everton

So, if you aren't aware of what is going on at Everton, here is a quick rundown.

The Toffees have decided to sack Sean Dyche three hours before they face Peterborough United in the FA Cup.

In his place, legendary full-back duo Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman will reunite on the sidelines.

They will be managing Ashley Young, who is set to go up against his son, Tyler.

The 18-year-old is part of the Posh's team and could end up facing his father on the pitch.

Plus, the game was nearly called off because of the snow.

Just another normal day at Everton, then.

    3. Everton: Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman
  • All change

Incredibly, Everton have parted ways with Sean Dyche just three hours before kick-off with Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman set to take temporary charge.

The Toffees have sacked the former Burnley manager after two years in charge.

The 53-year-old becomes the sixth Premier League manager to leave their role this season.

Dyche leaves Goodison Park with the Toffees 16th in the table, just a point above the relegation zone.

The decision comes just over two weeks after the Friedkin Group's takeover of the club.

During Dyche's tenure, Everton won 26 of their 83 matches across all competitions, with the former Burnley boss guiding them to safety in the last two seasons.

However, he oversaw a run of one win in his last 11 matches as manager as goals dried up for the Toffees.

In an official statement, they said: "Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect.

"Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the Club.

"The process to appoint a new manager is under way and an update will be provided in due course.

"Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines and Club Captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis."

  • Everton vs Peterborough ON

There was a brief moment earlier today when it looked as if Everton's home game against Peterborough would be called off.

However, after a safety check this afternoon, the match will go ahead, and it will be live on talkSPORT.

There was concern after some more snow fell on Merseyside and temperatures are anticipated to be around 0 degrees.

So, it will be a chilly one for those attending Goodison this evening.

In a statement, the club said: "Our third-round FA Cup tie with Peterborough will go ahead as planned this evening (kick-off 7:45pm).

"A safety meeting was held this afternoon to assess the weather and travel conditions for fans attending the tie, which confirmed the game can go ahead.

"Everton Staff and a crew from Liverpool council's Streetscene Services team have been treating the roads and footpaths around the stadium since the morning to ensure they are as safe as possible for supporters accessing the stadium.

"Anyone attending Goodison Park is advised to prepare for the cold conditions, take care and to allow extra time that may be needed in travelling to the game, including being aware of any advice and weather warnings that may be in place in areas fans are travelling from."
