Liverpool target Javier Pastore has revealed that talks about a new Paris Saint-Germain contract are on hold until the summer – and says his agent has received many offers regarding his future.

Liverpool target Javier Pastore has revealed that talks about a new Paris Saint-Germain contract are on hold until the summer - and says his agent has received many offers regarding his future.

The Argentinian has been one of PSG's star performers this season and discussions about a new deal in Paris have been ongoing.

Pastore's current contract runs out in June 2016, when he would be able to walk away as a free agent, and reports have suggested that Liverpool and Real Madrid are both set to test their resolve to keep him this summer.

The midfielder insists he will honour his contract but PSG may be forced to sell to ensure they do not lose him for nothing next year.

And now the 25-year-old has revealed that talks have hit a snag and he does not expect them to resume until the end of the season.

He said: "Talks have stopped. We do not talk more about an extension but I remain calm. I gave my word, I said that I will do my 5 years contract, I will do this year.

"This is a negotiation between the club and my agent. I just want to think about the important matches happen.

"After the championship, we will speak again of an extension. The desire to stay is there, of course. Everything was ready to extend. But these are things that happen. I have to think about the important matches happen.

"No club has spoken with me. My agent has received many proposals. I am calm."
