Forget about Manchester United! PSV star Memphis Depay urged to stay in Holland

Manchester United target Memphis Depay has been told to stay put at PSV Eindhoven for another year by Southampton loanee Eljero Elia.

United boss Louis van Gaal is a big fan of the young forward, who was part of his Holland World Cup squad last summer.

Since Van Gaal's arrival at Old Trafford, Depay has been heavily linked with a move to United, while 19 goals in 25 Eredivisie outings this season has also alerted the attention of a number of elite clubs across Europe.

But his compatriot Elia, who joined the Saints on loan during the January transfer window, has told the free-scoring 21-year-old to stay put for now.

He told Voetbal International: "I think it will be best for him to stay at Eindhoven.

"My feeling is he should play in the Champions League for PSV then he would have the experience of playing at the highest level in his locker before the moves at 22.

"PSV don't need the money and I feel Memphis doesn't need it as he signed a nice contract recently."
