FIFA Ballon d’Or 2016: Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar just edge out Nicklas Bendtner

Today is the day FIFA award the Ballon d'Or to the world's best footballer from 2015 and the shortlist is down to Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

That means one man will be conspicuous by his absence from the stage in Zurich tonight, and we don't mean Sepp Blatter.

Once again, Nicklas Bendtner has missed out on the game's most prestigious individual award, but rest assured the internet will provide us with entertaining Bendtner/Ballon d'Or jokes and pictures.
