Crystal Palace aren’t a selling club, insists Alan Pardew

Alan Pardew has warned rival clubs they will find it difficult to sign of any of his star Crystal Palace players this summer after slapping a £20m price tag on Yannick Bolasie

Alan Pardew has warned rival clubs they will find it difficult to sign of any of his star Crystal Palace players this summer after slapping a £20m price tag on Yannick Bolasie.

In a week when the club revealed record profits, the Eagles boss Pardew laughed at reports rating his Congo winger at £10m and boasted: "Blimey, it needs to be more than double that to get near him. We are in a great financial position."

Pardew also argued that the news this week that Joel Ward had agreed a new three-year contract shows his best players want to stay at Selhurst Park.

Defender Ward, 25, has played in every minute of every Premier League match for Palace this season and former Newcastle coach Pardew explained: "It was good news for us this week. We wanted to send a statement that our players will be very, very difficult to take away.

"Why? One, because they enjoy their football and two we are going forward.

"I am not getting carried away with where we are but we are doing very well in the Premier League. I have managed for many years and this team has many attributes.?"
