Anderlecht lead chase for former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen with West Brom also interested in Barcelona man

Belgian champions Anderlecht have been linked with a move for former Arsenal defender and West Brom target Thomas Vermaelen.
The out-of-favour Barcelona defender is expected to be on the move this summer, with a potential move back to his home country Belgium on the cards.
West Brom have also been tracking the defender but are yet to make any formal approach for the 31-year-old.
And, according to Diario Sport, it is in fact Anderlecht who are leading the chase for the former Gunners' defender's signature.
Vermaelen made just 21 appearances in his first three seasons with Barca due to constant injuries and endured similar issues during a loan spell at Roma last term.
Alongside West Brom, Watford and Crystal Palace have also shown interest but a decision on his future is unlikely to be made until later in the window.
