‘Manchester City are the most exciting team going forward’ – Frank Lampard reveals Chelsea’s top Premier League title rivals

Manchester City are likely to be Chelsea’s biggest foes in the fight for the Premier League title, Frank Lampard has told talkSPORT.
The legendary Blues midfielder, who also spent one season with the Citizens, feels Pep Guardiola’s men have sufficiently improved their squad to mount a challenge and stop Antonio Conte’s side retaining the trophy.
Lampard also feels Manchester United and Tottenham could trouble his former sides as they look to triumph in the English top-flight this campaign.
He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: “It’s a hard year to call but I think Manchester City have to be there. They were disappointing last year but they have backed Pep Guardiola again.
“You’re starting to see signs in pre-season of how they can play. On paper, they’re the most exciting team going forward, so I think they will be there [challenging for the Premier League title].
“Manchester United, again, with the way Jose Mourinho is building you’re starting to see a team in his image and how he wants them to be. I think they will be there again.
“And also Tottenham, on paper they’re a fantastic team but can they handle Wembley as their home? That will be the challenge for them.
“I feel like it will be those four who are fighting [for the title].”
Chelsea face Arsenal in the Community Shield this afternoon, kick off 2pm BST at Wembley Stadium, and you can listen to live commentary on talkSPORT.
