Koeman proud of Southampton players after ‘fantastic’ Spurs game

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman admitted he was disappointed with his side’s draw with Tottenham, but claimed he was very proud of his players.

The Saints twice led at St Mary’s, but Spurs found a way back on both occasions to draw 2-2.

“It was a fantastic football game and I enjoyed it very much,” he said.

“That’s football: two teams who played to win the game with good organisation and good individual players.

“This is the way I like to play football. Of course, if you play at home and score on two twice to go in front, it’s a little disappointing [not to win] but I’m very proud of the team.”
