Jonjo Shelvey never seems to learn, does he?

The Newcastle captain senselessly stamped on the right ankle of Tottenham ace Dele Alli despite the Magpies winning a free-kick only seconds earlier.

But the midfielder let his fiery temper get the better of him again as he planted his full weight onto Alli’s ankle right in front of referee Andre Mariner.

And to nobody’s surprise - except Shelvey’s - Mariner brandished a straight red card.

Shelvey could be seen mouthing the word “embarrassing” as he left the St. James’ Park pitch.
