Newcastle transfer report: Lille make approach for unwanted Magpies man

Lille have contacted Newcastle over the availability of Yoan Gouffran.

The Frenchman has struggled for action under Steve McClaren and is expected to leave during the current transfer window.

Newcastle are willing to allow the 29-year-old to go and fellow Premier League side Bournemouth had expressed an interest.

However, according to L'Equipe, Lille have now opened talks with the Magpies regarding Gouffran.

The Ligue 1 club are in need of a winger and believe the former Bordeaux man fits the bill.

Any deal is expected to be a loan move - although Gouffran's wages could prove a stumbling block.
