Manchester United transfer boost? Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan could leave as Adel Taarabt joins

Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan could join Manchester United this summer after the Portuguese giants signed playmaker Adel Taarabt.

The Argentine midfielder is tipped to join the Red Devils and news of Taarabt's arrival is a clear indication the Primeira Liga champions are preparing for life without the 27-year-old.

According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, former Boca Juniors star Gaitan is keen to move to the Premier League but still has a three-year contract at Benfica.

Gaitan, who scored four goals in 37 appearances last term, is firmly on United's radar due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of Angel di Maria.

Morocco international Taarabt has joined Benfica from QPR after the his contract with the relegated club was terminated by mutual consent.
