EXCLUSIVE – Darren Ferguson aiming to lead Doncaster to shock victory against Arsenal with support of father Sir Alex

Sir Alex Ferguson masterminded plenty of famous wins over Arsenal in his managerial career - and his son Darren is aiming to follow in his footsteps on Wednesday night.
The legendary former Manchester United boss will be in attendance at the Emirates as Darren's Doncaster Rovers side face the Gunners in a Carabao Cup third round clash.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast ahead of talkSPORT 2’s live commentary match, the Rovers boss said: "He came down and watched us train a few weeks ago. He is coming tonight so hopefully we put on a good performance for him."
Doncaster have endured a difficult start to the season having won just one of their opening seven games in League One.
Ferguson knows they face a huge task to get past Arsene Wenger’s side, which is likely to include Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud, but he insists they are under no pressure and are not there to simply make up the numbers.
"We can go there and relax a little bit. The expectations are that Arsenal will win so we are looking forward to it," he said.
“We are not going out there for a night out. We are going to get a result, but we know it will be difficult.
"It is a good day for the club. It is a bit of a one-off opportunity for us so hopefully we can put on a good performance, maybe pull off a shock, and get some belief into the players."
