Chelsea were comfortable Premier League champions last season, having their name engraved on that coveted trophy with three games to spare.

However, a shock early European exit at the hands of PSG, accompanied by the inevitable strengthening of their title rivals this summer, gives the Blues all the more need to bolster their squad as Mourinho’s men look to push on in all four competitions next season.

Although Chelsea’s first team looks as if it needs little improvement, questions were raised last season about the squad’s strength in depth. Jose Mourinho stuck to an almost identical starting eleven all year long but, should injuries strike the side next season, the special one could be left scratching his head as he tries to cobble together a makeshift lineup.
