Blow for Liverpool? Sevilla agree deal to sign Ciro Immobile on season-long loan

Liverpool have been dealt a blow after attacking target Ciro Immobile agreed to join Sevilla on a season-long loan.

The Borussia Dortmund striker struggled in his debut Bundesliga season after joining the German outfit from Torino for £12.6million in July 2014.

The 25-year-old made just seven league starts in a disappointing campaign, although he mustered an impressive four goals in his five Champions League appearances.

The Reds were reportedly monitoring his progress, particularly with attacking reinforcements topping Brendan Rodgers' transfer wishlist, but it appears Immobile has opted for a season in La Liga instead.

The likes of Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini are all expected to leave Anfield this summer after amassing just four league goals between them last season.
