‘Sean Dyche’s style of football may not wash with many Everton fans’, says former defender Alan Stubbs

Alan Stubbs believes Sean Dyche could be an unpopular appointment with Everton fans if the Burnley boss succeeds Ronald Koeman as Toffees manager.
Dyche is the current favourite to take over at Goodison Park following Koeman’s sacking on Monday after just 16 months in charge.
The Dutchman was axed following his team’s shocking start to the season - Sunday’s 5-2 defeat to Arsenal saw them slide into the bottom three and they have claimed just one victory in their last seven games in all competitions.

Stubbs, who made over 100 appearances for Everton, says the biggest challenge for whoever gets the job will be to re-energise a group of underperforming players and bring an exciting brand of football back to Goodison.
And the former defender believes Dyche may not be the best man suited to the task.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Stubbs said: “I personally would like to see someone like [German Cup-winning ex-Borussia Dortmund coach] Thomas Tuchel take the job.
“I know Sean Dyche is the frontrunner and I think he’s done a fantastic job at Burnley, but I don’t know whether his style of football would wash with a lot of Everton fans.
“Everton are not in a good position. The players need a little bit of stability, they need a clear direction and a plan on how they want to play.
“The team lack identity, they look like they don’t what they’re doing on the pitch and they need whoever who comes in to have a way of playing, stick to it and get results.
“I think Everton will move quickly, whichever direction they’re going to go in.
"[Majority shareholder] Mr Moshiri went all out to get Ronald Koeman. That was his appointment, so maybe Bill [Kenwright - club chairman] will have a little bit more of a say in this next appointment.
“Bill has looked throughout the divisions over the years and has made his appointments from there, whereas I get the impression Mr Moshiri wants the real big names and maybe he’s had his fingers burned on this one.”
