Roma edge ahead of Liverpool in race for Barcelona star Adriano

Roma have emerged as favourites to sign Liverpool-linked Brazilian Adriano.

The Barcelona full-back has revealed will leave the Nou Camp after five successful years at the club and Serie A is likely to be his next destination, despite strong interest from the Merseysiders.

According to Barcelona-based newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, the former Sevilla defender told his Barca team-mates he will not be playing for the Catalan side next season.

As talkSPORT informed you earlier this week, the 30-year-old is available on the cheap but is expected to want at least a three-year deal at his next club, worth around £2.5m per season.
