Watford to battle Roma and Monaco for £2.5m defender

Watford are among a trio of clubs chasing the signature of Palermo defender Achraf Lazaar.
The Hornets want to wrap up a £2.5m deal for the 23-year-old but face stiff competition from Roma and Monaco.
Lazaar, who can also operate in central midfield and on the left-side, has caught the eye of Watford scouts following a string of commanding performances for the Rosanero in Serie A last term.
It has been revealed by Tuttomercato that Lazaar favours a move to the Premier League and a new challenge in England, but Watford will have to come up with a full transfer fee up front to land the former Varese man.
Roma and Monaco are waiting in the wings and could bid for Lazaar if Quique Flores' men are unable to agree a deal this week.
