‘We’re all hoping Chris Coleman will stay on as manager’, Wales star tells talkSPORT

Wales defender Chis Gunter has told talkSPORT Chris Coleman has the backing of the entire team to continue his role as manager.

Coleman’s future with the Dragons is currently uncertain. His contract expires at the end of November and the boss recently admitted he has ‘no idea’ if he will be handed a new deal by the Football Association of Wales.

But 85-cap star Gunter insists Coleman is the right man to lead the team forward.

The Reading defender - who captained Wales in their recent 1-1 draw with Panama - told talkSPORT: “I think every player who has spoken about the manager has gone on record to say how important it is that he stays.

“We’re all just hoping now that whenever the news comes, it’s good news for us.

“We’ve had good times in the past and to have them again, it will be a lot easier if he was to stay and be our manager.”
