Marseille continue discussions with Chelsea and Newcastle over Bertrand Traore and Florian Thauvin

Marseille are ready to push through their move for Chelsea starlet and Everton target Bertrand Traore as discussions with Newcastle regarding Florian Thauvin's return to France continue to drag on.

The Ligue 1 club are hopeful of sealing a move for Thauvin, who only moved to Tyneside from Marseille in August.

The £12m man has managed only three Premier League starts since his arrival and reports have suggested that his return to the Stade Velodrome this month is a foregone conclusion.

Meanwhile, Marseille are also in talks with Chelsea about sealing a loan swoop for Traore, the 20-year-old from Burkina Faso, who spent time at Vitesse Arnhem last season.

But now reports in France have suggested that president Vincent Labrune is beginning to lose patience with the talks about the Thauvin move - and he is now willing to turn his full attention to landing Traore.

Everton are also said to be in the running to sign Traore but, as talkSPORT told you this week, he wants time to consider his options.

However Marseille want to step up their approach in a bid to persuade the youngster to join them this month.
