Troy Deeney has lifted the lid on the heated clash between Josh Harrop and Ian Wright at Baller League.

The pair were involved in a confrontation on night five at the Copper Box in London earlier this week.

Deeney was forced to intervene as they exchanged words on the pitch following the match between Wembley Rangers and FC RTW.

Harrop had scored twice for FC RTW as they claimed a 4-3 victory to leapfrog their opponents in the table.

However, the final whistle was followed by a clash between the former Manchester United midfielder and Wright.

As Harrop was held back by his team-mates, he could be heard shouting: "I'm a grown man, don't speak to me like that."

Deeney has now given his stance on the incident and issued a message to the ex-England youth international.

The Watford icon told talkSPORT: "I think it was a little bit of passion going high.

"Listen, the weird thing you have is, in this day and age, there's no respect. So my frustration was solely that you're speaking to Ian Wright, man.

"Have some respect. That's it. And again, whether it's Ian Wright, whether it's an old lady in the street, whether it's an older person that's driving a taxi, have a little bit of respect to it. That's all.

"And obviously the other lad, I don't know him. Nice footballer, but obviously he's a bit chirpy at it. I can't say anything about that. At his age, I was chirpy.

"So yeah, he's obviously decided to say a few things to Wright. From my point of view, I don't know what was said.

"I'd just seen Wrighty look like he was going to lose it. And I'm obviously not going to let that happen. So I just stepped to the middle."

Deeney had been making his Baller League debut for Wembley Rangers, who are managed by Wright and Lionesses star Chloe Kelly.

However, his first appearance lasted only a matter of seconds before he was sent off following a clash with Tareiq Holmes-Dennis.

The former Bristol Rovers full-back took exception to a series of heavy challenges from Deeney, prompting a melee between players from both teams.

As for Harrop, he has scored four goals and provided two assists in four appearances for FC RTW.

The 29-year-old came through United's academy before scoring on his only first-team appearance for the club.

He was also part of a Red Devils side which won back-to-back U21 Premier League titles alongside Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay.

Harrop has since had spells with Preston and Northampton but has been a free agent since leaving Cheltenham last summer.
