Man United blow! Thomas Muller not for sale, insists Bayern Munich director

Bayern Munich have ruled out selling Manchester United target Thomas Muller this summer.

The Bundesliga giants have issued a hands-off warning for their World Cup-winning star after recent reports that the Red Devils had tabled a £60m bid for his signature.

Louis van Gaal is a big admirer of the 25-year-old having worked with him during his time in charge of Bayern and is still keen to add a midfielder with striking prowess to his squad.

However, Bayern officials have made it clear that the versatile Muller will not be leaving the club and could yet extend his current deal which expires in 2019.

"We will need every player," sporting director Matthias Sammer admitted.

"I think there is nothing more that could happen [in the transfer market]."
